We are seeking an experienced vet (mixed or small animal) to join a well established, purpose built mixed practice in the lower Hunter Valley.

We are looking for a veterinarian to start at a mutually suitable time. The applicant should be cheerful and enthusiastic to fit into our friendly, growing practice that currently employs 10 Vets with an emphasis on team work and patient care. The new vet could work at either our Clarence Town or Morpeth Clinic, or potentially between the two clinics.

This exciting position will provide an attractive above award salary between $60k and $120k, dependent on experience, and includes use of on-call vehicle, mobile phone, CPD and study leave. Afterhours roster involves 1 weekday in every 6 on-call as well as some weekends (accommodation provided). Above award payment for after-hours call outs, generous time in lieu and subsequent 3 day weekends make up for this inconvenience. Clinic hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays – 9am-5pm, Wednesdays – 8.30am-6.30pm, Saturdays – 9am-11.30am and Sundays – closed.

The position is approximately 65% small animals and 35% large animals, mainly pleasure horses and cattle, we also see some sheep, goats and alpacas for the many hobby farmers in our district.

The clinic is situated in Clarence Town, 40 minutes north of Newcastle and 2 ½ hours north of Sydney and our Morpeth Clinic is in the lovely Heritage town of Morpeth. A beautiful place to live with a family atmosphere and if water skiing, kayaking or fishing is a pastime, the Williams River is a short walk away and we are only 35 minutes from the coast and vineyards. Our branch clinic is situated in Karuah located next to some of the most attractive water ways in the area.
