We are looking for an experienced veterinarian to join our team. Ideally you will have at least 2 years of experience and be confident in working sole charge. Applicants with less experience and exceptional skills will be considered. The position is for a full time vet. The clinic is independently owned and exceptional patient care is the primary focus.

The practice is well equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound, electrocautery, suction, infusion pumps, Surgivet anaesthetic monitor, capnography, IM3 dental machine, IM3 digital dental x-ray, tonometry pen, oxygen generator, Doppler blood pressure monitor, Idexx in house Lasercyte and Catalyst blood testing machines.

The right candidate will be someone who is motivated and passionate about small animal medicine and surgery. You will need exceptional communication skills and be thorough in your clinical examinations. You will need to be able to provide excellent patient care and workup cases thoroughly. The ability to communicate effectively with clients is essential. We are looking for someone with the ability to thrive in a busy clinic. While the clinic is busy, we book cases sensibly and it is rare to stay late. Of course our work is not entirely predictable, so if you are required to stay overtime, you get paid overtime. Due to a growing dentistry caseload, confidence in dental surgery is preferred. However training and continuing education can be provided for those who are keen but not yet very experienced.

You will have the support of experienced vets and nurses who are friendly and helpful. We have daily rounds where we discuss and share interesting or difficult cases. You will join a great team who are passionate about veterinary care and always strive to provide the best care and advice possible. You will need to share this passion and be motivated to keep improving your skills and knowledge through continuing education opportunities. Our vets and nurses regularly attend conferences, seminars, do webinars and podcasts to remain up to date. We then share our knowledge and learn from each other.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Bachelor of Veterinary Science or equivalent and current registration with the Veterinary Board of Victoria
  • Competent and efficient with practice of general medicine and surgery
  • A caring, compassionate, reliable person who strives to provide high quality patient care
  • Exceptional client service skills and communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills

Full time position (38hrs/week)
Hours are 8:30am-6:30pm Monday to Friday, 8:30-2pm Saturdays. Closed Sundays and public holidays with no after hours.

Salary negotiable according to experience. CVE membership is also paid for.
