Equine Veterinarian – Cranbourne, VIC Full-time – graduate level to experienced

This well-established 4-Vet Practice based in Cranbourne and servicing clients throughout Melbourne’s South East and Mornington Peninsula area, provides the perfect work life balance and lifestyle, with over 50 wineries, golf courses and water sports throughout the beautiful Mornington Peninsula area and bay region.

Who will you be working with?

You will be working within a great team of Equine professionals, including a registered specialist in surgery who is able to mentor the successful applicant if desired in achieving membership/fellowship candidature in the Australian and New Zealand college of Veterinary Scientists.

The position involves the majority of work with thoroughbred race horses, but other equine pursuits are well covered including Standardbreds, Dressage, Eventing, and Pleasure Riding.  The practice is fully equipped with Digital radiology, Ultrasound, Video Endoscopy, Shockwave, and IRAP.  Additionally, the practice has a spelling farm on the Mornington Peninsula for surgery and rehabilitation (surgery suite set up).

Who will you be?

  • A Qualified and registered Veterinarian who is experienced in Equine, or has a passion for Equine work (for new graduates). Experience is preferred, although new and recent graduates are encouraged to apply, and will have mentorship available to them
  • Someone with experience or an interest in thoroughbred race horse work
  • Someone who is enthusiastic and motivated, who values a good work life balance
  • Someone who is wanting to further professionally develop themselves, whilst working alongside a like-minded team of Equine professionals
  • Someone who is able and willing to share the weekend after hours responsibilities with the other Equine Veterinarians on a rotational basis
