Who we are:

We are a busy multi-specialist veterinary hospital located in Collingwood, on the fringe of Melbourne city. It is a fast-growing, privately owned clinic with an ever-increasing caseload. We aim for gold standard patient care at all times and pride ourselves on having a cohesive, friendly working environment. We strive for excellent relationships with our referring veterinarians and clients. We are a well-equipped centre with in-house 16-slice CT, ultrasound, digital subtraction fluoroscopy, computed radiography suite, in-house clinical pathology (including IDEXX biochemistry and coagulation profiles, Radiometer blood-gas analysis), endoscopy, advanced surgical monitoring, ventilation and regular off-site access to MRI. We are committed to the continued development of the facility and its instrumentation, to ensure that contemporary and newly developed techniques and practices are available for our patients.

The position:

Our Emergency/ICU department enjoys a busy and varied load, encompassing a broad range of emergency and critical care cases. The ICU Veterinarian position involves primary responsibility for the care and treatment of referred and primary accession cases arriving through the Emergency department, as well as assistance in the care of hospitalised patients from our specialist departments. Management of cases often involves contributions from multiple specialist disciplines, providing an excellent opportunity for learning and case follow-up.

The role can be part-time or full-time, with our emphasis on finding the right person to suit the team. It is important that the successful applicant embraces our core values, integrates well, and values the pursuit of excellence in client and patient care. They will be experienced, motivated, conscientious and effective in their written and verbal communication with clients, referring veterinarians and other hospital staff.

This position would involve an attractive remuneration package, including a generous salary (range $100-115K, commensurate with experience), holiday, and conference leave. In addition, every effort is made to create a shared roster that respects the work/life balance of our team. All our veterinarians and nurses in the ICU are mentored by our ECC specialist, allowing excellent scope for continued professional development.
